*FANFIC* Kim Possible's Jurassic Park: Chapter 11*FANFIC*
6:16 p.m. on April 23, 2004

Morning. The tree where three quarters of the Stoppables were. Ron had slept with the kids in his arms all night. A dinosaur look a bundle of leaves from the tree. Christy moved slightly back and yelled, "Go away!"

"It's okay," Ron said, gently. "It's a brachiosaur."

"Christy, a veggiesaur!" Will said.

Ron found a small branch and broke it off. "Come on girl," he said to the brachiosaurus. It took it and played tug of war with Ron. "I'm not letting go!" he told the Brachiosaur. It came close to Ron and he patted it. Christy got over her fear quick and petted it.

"Looks like it has a cold," she said.

"Yeah. Maybe," Ron said. Will was somewhat reluctant to touch the dinosaur.

"Can I touch it?" Will asked.

"Go ahead. Think of it as... a really big cow," Ron said. As Will tried to reach out to touch the brachiosaur, it withdrew.

"Come back," Will said. "Come on, girl. Up here, girl." It sneezed on Will.

Christy patted his back, ruffled his back, and said as the Brachiosaur retreated. "God Bless You!" She chuckled.

The 3 of them were walking through the forest. "Yuck!" Will said.

"Oh, great. Now, he'll never try anything new. Just sit in his room and never come out and play on his computer," Christy said.

"I'm a hacker!" Will replied.

"That's what I said, little brother, you're a nerd."

"I'm not a computer nerd, I prefer to be known as a hacker!"

Ron squatted down at the base of a tree that they had just passed. "Oh, God," he whispered. There was a small group of hatched eggs.

"Dad?" Christy said, grabbing Will and walking back towards her father.

"You know what this is?" Ron said. He picked up a single, hatched egg. "It's a dinosaur egg. The dinosaurs... are breeding."

"But, Daddy, Mr. Hammond said that all the dinosaurs were girls," Will said, leaning against a large root and kneeling on the ground. He took the egg from his father and looked at it.

"Amphibian DNA," Ron said.

"What's that?" Christy said.

"Well, on the tour, the film said they used frog DNA to fill in the gene sequence gaps. They mutated the dinosaur genetic code... and blended it with that of frogs," Ron said. "Now, from what I understand, some West African frogs have been known to spontaneously change sex from male to female in a single sex environment." Ron shook his head. "Malcolm was right. Look." Ron pointed to tiny pawprints in the ground. "Life found a way."

Control Room. "No, no, that's crazy. You're out of your mind. He's absolutely out of his mind," Arnold said.

"Wait a minute," Kim said. She was kneeling to the side by Ian, tending to Ian's gash on his leg. "What exactly would this mean?"

"We're talking about a calculated risk, my dear, which is the only option left for us. We will never find the command that Nedry used. He's covered his tracks for too well. I think it's obvious now that he's not coming back," John said. "Shutting down the entire system--"

"You can find somebody else, because I won't do it," Arnold said.

"Shutting down the system is the only way to wipe out everything that he did," John said. John walked in the area that separated Kim and Arnold. "Now, as I understand it, all the systems will then come back on their original start up mode, correct?"

"Theoretically, yes. But we've never shut down the entire system before. It may not come back at all."

"Will we get the phones back?" Kim asked.

"Yes, again, in theory," Arnold said.

"What about the lysine contingency? We could put that into effect," Muldoon said. One of his cheeks was resting against his hand. He looked thoughtful.

"What's that?" Kim asked.

"That is absolutely out of the question," John said.

"The lysine contingency is intended to prevent the spread of the animals in case they ever get off the island. Dr. Wu inserted a gene that creates a single faulty enzyme in protein metabolism. The animals can't manufacture the animo acid lysine. Unless they're completely supplied with lysine by us, they slip into a coma and die," Arnold said.

John walked forward and forcefully said each word as he said, "People... are... dying." He paused and then added, "Will you please shut down the system?"

Ray opened a case that had four levers. Three of the levers said, "C-1, C-2, C-3", and at the bottom there was a "Main" lever. He pushed down the first three levers, and then turned the main off. "Hold onto your butts," he said right before he turned the main off. The first three levers turned the computers off and the main one turned the power off. He paused a few moment. And then turned them on again. Arnold walked to a computer. It said, "System Ready" in white letters at the bottom of a black screen. "It worked," he said.

"Wait, what do you mean it worked? Everything's still off," Ian said.

"Maybe the shutdown tripped the circuit breakers. All we have to do is reboot a few systems: telephones, door security, a half dozen others. But it worked. System's ready."

"Where are the breakers?" Muldoon asked.

"Maintenance shed, other end of the compound. Three minutes, I can have power back in the entire park," Arnold said.

"Just to be safe, I want everyone to be in the emergency bunker until Mr. Arnold returns and the whole system is up and running again," John said.

Ron, Will, and Christy were walking through the grassy plain that was the park. "I'm tired, I'm hot," Will said.

"I'm dirty, my legs hurt," Christy said. "I miss Mom."

Ron's heart ached at the mention of Kim. "I miss Mom too," Ron said. He sounded sad. Christy patted her father's back gently.

Although, Christy was young, she knew how much the two people known as her parents, the two people who created her, loved each other. She couldn't even begin to imagine how her mother must have felt being separated from her entire family.

"Let's just keep going, kids," Ron said, swallowing hard. "The Visitor's Center is just about a mile over that rise there. Just... keep--" There was a herd of running dinosaurs about 100 yards or so from them. "Will, can you tell me what those are?"

"Um... Gallimimus," Will said.

"Dad, are those meat eating?" Christy asked.

The herd changed direction. "Look at the wheeling, the uniform direction changes, just like a flock of birds evading a predator." Ron said.

"Um... dad," Will said. He chuckled nervously. "They're flocking this way."

The younger Stoppables turned around and ran. Ron followed after them. They ran over to a giant tree log lying in the plain. Ron covered the kids head as the herd jumped over the log. They crawled under a hole in the log to the other side.

The Tyrannosaur Rex came out from the trees and grabbed one of the gallimimus. Christy looked horrified, Will looked intrigued, and Ron tried to hide his interest.

"I wanna go now," Christy whispered.

"Look how it eats," Ron said. "Bet you'll never look at birds the same way again."

"Yes," Will said.

"Dad! Let's go now, or I'm telling mom!" Christy whispered hotly.

"Okay, stay close and follow me," Ron said, starting to crawl away.

"Look how much blood," Will said, as he stood up.

Ron turned, grabbed Will and pulled him down.

Kim was pacing through the emergency bunker. "Oh, God. Something went wrong, something's happened," Kim said,

"This is just a delay. All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked," John said, tending to Ian's wound.

"John," Kim said.

"Yeah, but, John, if the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists," Ian said.

"Look, I can't wait anymore," Kim said. "Something went wrong. I'm gonna go turn the power back on."

End of Chapter 11.
