*FANFIC* Kim Possible: Asian Tsunami Part 1*FANFIC*
8:33 a.m. on February 21, 2005

Disclaimer: Kim Possible does not belong to me, though I feel her pain sometimes, and she is like the only sister I ever had. This fic is dedicated to the quarter of a million plus people in Southeast Asia ranging from children to elders that died on December 26th, 2004 due to the Tsunami that started because of an earthquake in the Indian Ocean. May they rest in peace. Happy Reading.

December 26th, 2004. Kim Possible was having breakfast with her family when the Kimmunicator beeped. She pulled it out of her pocket after wiping her lips and turned it on.

"Good morning, Wade," Kim said. She continued to look at the younger boy's face.

It was pensive. She knew something was wrong. Then, he said, "Something's happened." The screen changed from his face to a large wave of water hitting a coast.

"Oh my god," Kim said softly.

"The Indian Ocean, this morning, had an underwater earthquake that registered very high on the Richter Scale. I'm not sure how high right now but in the range of 8.0 to 9.5," Wade said.

The map of Southeast Asia that showed up next on the Kimmunicator, included the epicenter. "The earthquake caused a tsunami, which is still currently going on. It is unsafe for you to go right now. Government and military officials will contact me when you are allowed to head there," Wade said.

"I'll, uh, be on stand by," Kim said nearly choking on her words.

"You want I should get a hold of Ron?"

"Yeah. Tell him to give me a few hours before he comes over here, okay?"

"Okay. Later, Kim." The Kimmunicator shut off.

Kim looked up at her breakfast. "I can't eat anymore," she said softly, then added asking, "May I be excused?"

"Go ahead, darling," Mrs. Dr. Possible said.

Kim went up to her bedroom and flopped down on her bed.

"A tsunami... that's unescapable... even I could not have stopped it..." she said. She bit her lip.

She pressed a couple of buttons on the Kimmunicator and got CNN News. She sat up and watched video after video of waves hitting Asian countries and people being washed away. It was Mother Nature at it's worst. Kim would have to look away when CNN showed the waves receding from the beach and then heading back at hundreds of miles per hour... towards little kids who were curious by the sudden low tide.

Kim wanted to disobey her orders and go now, but she knew she would be in trouble if she did. She despised just sitting on her bed while hundreds upon thousands of people were wounded, dying, or dead. She watched CNN for three hours...

Downstairs. "Is Kim okay?" Ron asked as he came into her house. "Wade said she was visibly disturbed when she found out."

"She was," Mrs. Dr. Possible said. "I could see it in her eyes. She excused herself from the breakfast table three hours ago and has not been down since."

"Want I should see if she's okay?" Ron asked.

"Go ahead."

Ron walked into her bedroom quietly and sat down next to Kim on the bed. He looked at the screen. He waited tensely to see if she would speak. "It's awful isn't it?" Kim said softly.

"Yes." He tried to look at her but she looked away from him. "K.P. are you okay?" He knew the answer; the question was stupid.

"No. I feel so... helpless. I have to wait until Government and military officials ok that it is safe to go there. And nothing could have been done to stop it..." Kim said. Kim sighed. "Are you okay, Ron?"

"I don't know, Kim. This is one of those horrific things. It is like the Holocaust or 9/11." Ron sighed. Kim nodded, but she looked away again. Ron could always tell when she was upset; she would look away from him.

"Sri Lanka, parts of India, Sumatra, Indonesia, Thailand, all affected somehow by this..." Kim said softly. "This is one mission that will be hard to go through."

"I know."

The Kimmunicator beeped. Kim pressed a button and Wade came back onto the screen. "Kim, they've OK'd it. You'll be sent on a military plane with Red Cross officials and a couple of Generals," Wade said.

"Alright."

"They'll pick you up at Middleton International Airport in twenty five minutes."

"Thank you."

Kim turned off the Kimmunicator and set it on her bedstand. "Ron, I want you to go home--"

"What?"

"Would you wait? I'm not finished."

"Sorry."

"Go home, get several days worth of clothes, and your pjs and the mission items. We'll meet at M.I.A. in twenty minutes. Go."

Ron left.

Kim grabbed her mission clothes, put them on, and then grabbed her backpack. She made sure there was a pair of dark sunglasses in there as well because if she cried she didn't want anyone to be able to notice. She grabbed several changes of clothes and several gadgets.

She went downstairs. "Kim?" Mrs. Possible said. Kim kissed her mom's cheek.

"I'm going to Asia. I'll be gone about a week of so. I'll stay in contact," Kim said. "Bye mom."

"Bye honey. Good luck."

Kim met Ron at M.I.A and when the plane landed, a general came out.

"Kim Possible? General Parker," he said.

Kim saluted him and then shook his hand. She followed him out onto the plane. "The Red Cross has already started relief efforts. We'll brief you on the plane."

Kim and Ron sat down once on the plane. The plane started up and took off. "Miss Possible, we are sorry it took so long. You understand how natural disasters are... Now, the Red Cross, you, and your friend are just some of the volunteers that will be trying to clear the wreckage, that sort of thing." He turned on a computer and showed her the wreckage.

"With all due respect, sir, I've spent the last three hours watching this. I do know what I am up against and what this entails," Kim said.

She felt Ron tense up next to her. One of the Red Cross officials spoke. "We've already opened up donations for the Tsunami Relief Fund." Kim nodded.

"That's good."
