Disclaimer: I do not own Kim Possible. This beautiful fiery redhead is owned by Disney. :) I do not own most of the other elements in this fic, that is the products of Australia and Oregon, USA. :D This fic is dedicated to the great Steve Irwin who passed away unexpectedly almost two weeks ago. This is my tribute to you, mate. Thank you, mate, you truly changed our world. May you rest in peace and never be forgotten. Your fans love you and will miss you. Happy Reading. Mid-Winter in the Northern Hemisphere, also known as North America, Europe, and Asia. Middleton, Colorado, the United States of America. Mid-Winter in the year of 2006. Kim Possible, champion of saving the world and teen hero; a redhead with green eyes and a terrific attitude was chilling at Bueno Nacho with her best friend, Ron Stoppable. They were both seniors in high school and a quasi couple. Ron was a brown eyed, blond haired teenage boy. Kim was in the midst of eating a taco with Ron when the Kimmunicator beeped. Kim grinned. She set her taco down, grabbed the device from her pocket and turned it on. Wade Load was on her screen. “Hey, Wade,” Kim said. “What’s the sitch?” “You up for some animal conservation work?” Wade asked. “Yes. If it involved saving this world, then I am ready and able. Who with?” Kim asked. “The Irwin family of Australia Zoo,” Wade said. Kim nodded and then paused. “Are you referring to Steve Irwin?” Kim said. “Yes, and his whole family,” Wade said. “Whoo! The Crocodile Hunter! Crikey!” Ron said with an Australian accent. Kim chuckled. “So, we’re going to meet Steve Irwin and go crocodile catching?” Kim said. “Yeah,” Wade said. “That rocks. I admire that man. He has so much passion for what he does. He truly cares about what he does. I’d consider it an honor to work with him,” Kim said. “So, yes, you’re going to Australia?” Wade said. “That’s a yes!” Kim said. Wade signed off and turned off the Kimmunicator. There was a pause in which Ron said, “It’s summer in Australia, ain’t it?” “Yes,” Kim said. “Whoo-hoo! Better weather than here!” Ron said. “Dude, let’s go!” A couple of hours later, Kim and Ron had packed various things into their economical backpacks and luggage, which were tan and black respectively. Once this was done, Wade arranged for transport to Beerwah, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. The transportation was provided by Global Justice. Kim and Ron were sitting next to each other. They both were looking at the Kimmunicator which had been playing various Crocodile Hunter related television shows to get them up to speed on the various aspects of Steve Irwin’s life. “Kim, this guy is so awesome!” Ron said, then added with an Australian accent, “Danger, danger, danger!” Kim took a deep sigh and said, “Ron, please no impressions of him! Especially not in front of him!” Kim pressed a button on the Kimmunicator and Wade came on the screen. “Okay, Wade, we’re almost to Beerwah, anything you wanna tell us? Did he want to have us with him?” Kim said. “Yeah. You’ve got such a good rep for stuff that it’ll be good that you two work together!” Wade said. “Thanks.” “Miss Possible?” said a voice from the pilot seat. “We’re in Beerwah. Would you like to land just off the premises of Australia Zoo?” “Please and thank you,” Kim said in her sweet voice. And, thus this is the way it was. Five minutes later, they were about 40 yards from the premises of Australia Zoo. Kim and Ron got off the jet with their luggage and watched as Steve and Terri Irwin, followed by what looked to be a little girl and a small boy and an entire film crew came towards them. Steve was talking to the camera. “We’ve got a very special guest with us today. Er, guests. Crikey! A young lady who is a gorgeous Sheila and who saved the world in various ways. She’s been around the world almost as much as I have– maybe more! My little girl, Bindi loves her and looks up to her. And there she is with her best mate, Ron,” Steve said and walked right over to Kim and Ron. The blond man in his forties was dressed in khakis. “Hi, Mr. Irwin,” Kim said. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” “The same, Miss Possible. But, you can call me Steve. I’ll call you Kim, eh?” They shook hands. “Seventeen years old and doing the same thing I’m doing in a way!” “This is Ron, my, erm, best mate,” Kim said. “Okay, Terri, my wife,” Steve said. Kim shook her hand. “And me kids, Bindi Sue and Bob.” Terri gently brought Bob and Bindi towards Kim and Ron. Bob was barely two years and blond, Bindi was brunette and about eight years old. Kim smiled. “Hi, Bob!” Kim said. He hid his eyes for a moment and then smiled. “He’s so cute!” Kim then looked at Bindi and gave her an inviting smile. Bindi ran up to her and hugged her. “K.P., you’re so cool! Wanna go crocodile catching with me daddy?” Bindi asked. “It would be my pleasure,” Kim replied. End of Part 1/ |
