Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I sobbed!
1:20 p.m. on July 23, 2007

Good afternoon! How are you? I'm joyfully sad.

First off, I watched the Carlos Mencia stuff I intended to, but yeah, who cares?

From here on in, there are likely to be spoilers of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so you're warned...

Onto the Harry Potter update: Well, last night, I reached chapter 30, knowing full well, that if I read any further, I'd have to read the rest of the book in one go, I stopped reading. So, this morning, about 8:30 am ish, to thunderstorms (that are now gone), I started from Chapter 30 and read through the rest of the book. My mother reached the end before I did. At noon, I completed the book. When I read the last two sentences, I sobbed.
They were: "The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well." When I read that, I closed the book, and I immediately started sobbing, I walked into the living room clutching my book, sobbing uncontrollably, sitting on the couch. My mother who finished the book hours before I did, who was lying on the couch as well, was like, "He LIVED!" Unable to understand my tears. Yep, I sobbed uncontrollably unashamed at the end of the Harry Potter book. I know who dies, who lives. I must say, that the book was everything I ever wanted and that the epilogue was okay, it should have been much better. But, it was still enough to reduce me to a bawling pile of me.

Great chapters, sad chapters.

Those who died were 21 in number. Hedwig was killed, and I was very sad. Mad Eye was killed as they tried to Harry out of Privet Drive. Lupin and Tonks, a newly married couple with a son, were killed in the final battle. How sad! I was horrified. They just had a baby! She Neville'd his ass. Wormtail got the Jabba the Hutt treatment. He choked himself by way of silver hand and I thought of Jabba the Hutt. Colin Creevey died, but who cares. Snape died, an honorable death, but not before giving Harry his memories of Lily Potter and Dumbledore. I was near tears. Dobby was killed by Bellatrix, saving several people's lives. Fred, I was horrified to read, died as well, whilst his brother lived and lost an ear. Nagini, the evil snake got her head cut off by the great Neville, who later became a Professor. Bellatrix died by Mrs. Weasley's hand. And of course, Voldemort was killed by his own spell when Harry beat him. I celebrated his death.

Harry did die, but he was in a limbo type place, but then he came back, and beat Voldemort's ass! Whoohoo!

This book had moments that reminded me of Lambert in Alien (Chapter 23, especially, with Hermione being tortured by Bellatrix). Those screams made me think of Lambert, who had the worse screams ever as she died. Of Star Wars, and of Pirates of the Caribbean.

And, now, as I get teary thinking about the end of the series and truly knowing what happens, I must say it brings me to tears. Thank you, Harry Potter. Thank you, J.K. Rowling. For you bought seven wonderful books into my life and changed my life in a way that I cannot describe. As I get choked up thinking about my first time reading a Harry Potter and I sobbed when I finished reading the book, I can't help but cry. You shall be with me forever Harry Potter. Thank you for all you've given to me as a person and a fan.

I added a check mark to my list of things to do before I die list.
