Photojournal of Schlitterbahn Trip. LOTS OF PHOTOS!
12:40 p.m. on August 20, 2007

Heeeeeeeeey! All! How are you all? Today's my day of rest after my trip to Schlitterbahn.

Nothing to report. I've already checked off Schlitterbahn from my list of things to do before I die.

And, here is my report and photo journal of the trip! And when I say tons of pics, I mean it. There's a lot of photos. A total of like, 90 or more.

Okay, so Schlitterbahn. My mom and I left after packing about 7 pm on Saturday to my aunt’s house, in Odem. We spent the night on two of the boy’s beds (they were very uncomfortable beds and I barely slept, my mind was going a million miles per hour). At about 7:30 am, Sunday, we left, in 2 cars. My cousins, Codi and Casey were in ours. They were all very quiet, considering that they both are loud monkeys. Codi had a cd player to keep her quiet, Casey had an iPod shuffle, and I had my iPod (which was low on battery, so I didn’t play it that much, now it’s recharging). But, as soon as we got to New Braunfels, the kids, namely Codi stopped being quiet and started being LOUD. Codi was crazy silly. Then, about 10 am, we got there. I bought 100 dollars worth of Splash Cash to put on my arm (they were in two dollar increments, so I had 2 on one arm, one on the other in addition to the wristband the park requires you to wear. I rode a total of 4 rides. The lines were ATROCIOUS. They were SOOO long. At the world’s best waterpark (and the country’s best waterpark), it is to be expected. The first ride I rode on was this tube chute ride. When I got to the bottom, I actually flipped over totally unexpecting it. My mom lost her shoe. LOL. Other rides were pretty good. I spent most of the day in wet wet clothes. But, at a waterpark, it’s damn near impossible not to get wet. Although, my aunt/godmother went, but she didn’t go on the rides. Yeah, what a paradox. Go to the waterpark and not get wet. So, we were ready to go about 5 pm, just before the park closed at 6. I bought tons of souvenirs (honestly, it would have been a waste of the 5 hours I spent in the car if I didn’t). Of the 270 dollars I brought along, I spent just under 100 dollars. Most of the money I brought and put in a Ziploc bag was wet, but dried quickly after getting home. My mom and I got home after dropping Casey and Codi off in Odem (they actually got out on the road, after my uncle got out of his truck and had them get out) and then we drove home. My dachshund, Hank was so happy to see us. Apparently, he was so upset that we were gone. He spent most of the night awake when we were gone. Luckily, I showed him a great shirt I got that had a dog like it on him. As to my after effects? I got sunburn on my upper back and neck and face. I’ve also got blisters on the sides of both feet.

Okay here are the pictures:

PACKING!

This is the Ziplog bag that would be in my fannypack. That black thing is my Ipod, which didn't go into the park, but my camera did.

My fanny pack! With my money in a ziploc bag, 270 dollars worth.

My bag, that goes with me everytime I leave town.

That would be the item of clothes I wore during the park excursion.

My flip flops and water shoes.

The time at my aunt’s house
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Buster. He's a young (probably about 5 to 8 years old) Australian Shephard. They live on a farm, so this is the best place for him. I love how happy he looks to see me!

Walker. He's my aunt's eldest dog, about 13 or so years old. He's also an Australian Shephard. I love him so much. As much as I love my Dachshund. He's the world's best dog. He's actually a rescue. I don't know what his life was like before my aunt and uncle rescued him, but he's had a great life now. He's been run over by a cow and bit by a rattlesnake (that greatly upset me, because I love that dog). I still remember meeting him for the first time, watching him come out of the car.

This is Sadie. She's a mutt. She and Walker are soul-mates. They never had puppies, but they are so close and love each other. I guess, like Will and Grace in a way. When Walker got run over by a cow, Sadie ran to his aid. She's also been bit by a rattlesnake, on her face. She still has the scar. Little Bit is in the background. I don't like her.

My Aunt and Uncle also own horses. That's Jasper in the foreground, Pepe in the background. I've ridden Jasper (I have photos).

Lambs! Baby Sheep! Codi, my cousin, her cousin, Colin (who I think is a jerky kid who upstages her) is raising them for FFA or 4H, whatever group does that whole crazy animal raising thing. I petted them, they were SO soft!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Goats. The bigger one is Colin's, the smaller one is Codi, which she named Billy. LOL. I held him. So cute!

On the road again… on the way to Schlitterbahn!

Ah, driving. The car in front of us is one of us. My uncle Jay, my Aunt Leanne, my cousins Kevin (17 years old) and Dustin (7 years old) are in it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That's so pretty! Look!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Look who's in the car with us! Codi and Casey. Ages 14 and 10. They were pretty well behaved, surprising, as I know them.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

More of the scenery whilst driving.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Guadalupe River.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Even more landscape and scenery. I’m just glad there’s no traffic this early in the morning.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The first sign that we’re actually close!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Shortly after arriving in New Braunfels. And this is what happened:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The well behaved Codi and Casey went CRAZY!

And now we’re there! YEAH!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That was the first thing we saw. We’re there! Shortly after 10 am.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Ja, man, a castle!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I think that’s the ticket areas. Prettyness!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Just shortly after our first ride where I flipped over not realizing it was gonna throw me into the water. We’re sitting around thinking of what to do next. Kevin, his mum and stepdad. I wonder what Kevin is thinking?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My mom and the pool!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Comal River. A lot of the water of Schlitterbahn is fed by the Spring Water of the Comal River.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Either that is Dustin or Casey.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Casey just finished sliding!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Boogie Bahn. It’s a surfing ride. My cousins Casey, Dustin, Codi and my uncle Jay rode it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I think that’s Casey!

And we’re done, now on the road again. To home, driver!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That is the side of my left foot. Never ever wear water shoes to walk all day. Those are nasty blisters. They hurt so bad.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That the side of my RIGHT foot. Both feet got blisters. That’s the second time I’ve got blisters. First time was four years ago, August 2003 (ironic, I found KP that month), first day of sophomore year in high school. I wore these rhinestone studded flip flops (rhinestones on the straps) and my feet got blisters that popped midday. I never wore the shoes again, they are in my closet though.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This was required to wear at the park. Wristbands!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My mum!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Look who fell asleep!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Taken without turning around or looking at what I was capturing. As Ben Sullivan said in Scrubs season 1, Posed pictures aren’t real. I caught him by surprise!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I’m resting while listening to music… see my sunburned face!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

You can just make out my sunburn on my back (see later pics for more of that)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Say bye, Schlitterbahn!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yay! The landscape of the drive home! Farmlands, lots and lots of FARMLAND! Yeah!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

My right arm, tanned. As I said in the report, I had wristbands on my arm, the upper white was there one splashcash was, the other band of white was where the wristband was.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Pretty land! Yay!

[Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

How peaceful and nice!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

A sign. We’re not going to Houston or San Antonio, but still we’re very far from home!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That building is part of Texas Lutheran University as we drove by it. It’s obviously a Private Religious college in Seguin.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I’m listening to music. Check it, Pirates of the Caribbean!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Traffic? What Traffic? I think we’re the only ones on the road!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

More Texas scenery!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Look who is still asleep!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Even more pretty landscape. Seriously, that's what we saw for most of the trip, but might as well capture it on camera

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was listening to “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” See the tear? I actually started crying!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yay for great scenery!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Moo? Or horses. I’m not sure!

It’s just after 6 pm now and we’re still on the road!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

How lonely and quiet and pretty…

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

As I get bored sitting in the car, I begin to play with my hair! Also, my bathing suit strap!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I’m playing with my hair some more!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Aww, look who else is asleep!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Look at that ranch! It's so big and huge. Check out that house!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Playing with my hair some more. I look like a bored model.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Still playing with my hair!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

At 15 to 7, we stopped someplace and got gas at an Exxon. Look at those prices!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Ah, even more of the scenery!

And now it’s almost 7:30!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Golden Ranch. I don't know it, but I thought I'd take a pic of it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

COTTON! YAY!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

7:50 PM. We are now in Odem, Texas. 30 minutes from home and what do we see! A Train going through the town. They do that regularly.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We're stopped at a railroad stop, waiting for this train to go by! It’s now 7:53 pm.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It looks endless!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Waiting!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yay! Ten minutes later, at exactly 8 o clock, the train finally finishing going by!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The sun has begun to set!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It’s almost gone…

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

All right. We're almost there!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Labonte Park. It’s the Nueces River park, it’s named for Labonte Brothers, famed for NASCAR, who are borne from Corpus Christi.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Nueces River. It looks swollen, even after all the rain we’ve had.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The moon is out.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

HOME!

And now, THE AFTERMATH!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

A mousepad. It’s now home on my desk for my mouse.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

T-Shirt Number 1. Yay!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

A tank top. TShirt number 2. I liked it, so I got it. It looks and feels comfortable.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Pirate for Hire. ARRGH! Everyone knows how much I love Pirates. I had to have that shirt! T shirt 3

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Dachshund for President. Love that shirt. I love Dachshund. Hank approved of it! T shirt 4

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

T-shirt 5. No big deal…

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Sunburn on my back!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Blisters on my feet!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Sunburn on my face.

That concludes the photojournal of my trip to Schlitterbahn!

That took a LOOONG time to do.
