Back to School... Again and tons of South Park references!
Good afternoon, lovely readers! How are you all doing today? I am doing pretty good. My little Bush calendar had a Bush quote today so, here it is for today: "There's no such thing as legacies. At least, there is a legacy, but I'll never see it." -- The White House, January 2001 To quote random UN guy in the South Park episode A Ladder To Heaven: "Are you high or just incredibly stupid?" And it was asked after Bush randomly gave exposition of Saddam Hussein and Satan from the fourth season. I LOVE that scene so much. Actually I really love ALTH. It's a great episode. So, I'm back in school again! Yay! I went to bed at 10, but I was unable to sleep, so about midnight I got online and talked to my friend Hannah on RS.net. We had tons of fun for about an hour and then I went to bed. To quote Kyle on the t-shirt I wore today: "That sucks, Dude..." It's not like I was nervous, on the contrary, I was excited. I've had tons of first days of school, it's nothing to be nervous over. My 9 am class is in the Center for Sciences, a short walk from the Uni Center. College Algebra, taught by a dorky kind of older gentlemen (I assume he's older because he said he has taught for thirty years.) names Jeffrey Fant. I already bought his book for the class (IT WAS EXPENSIVE, MAN!) It is a good class, what sucks though, is we have the gay little half desks, that the boys have to deal with starting with the South Park episode Fourth Grade, which was on last night and has one of my favorite speeches ever: Now, children, listen to me. Why do you want to go back in time? Life isn't about going back, it's about going forward. Yes, there are times in our life that we wish we could relive, but, if we already lived them perfectly, why live them again? The adventure of life is that there's always something new. New challenges, new experiences. A fun game is a game that gets harder as it goes. So it is with life. Do you understand? Anyways, so my ten a.m. class is in the Center for Instruction building for French II. Yay! Madame Newberry. My friend, Sally is in that class and my French partner last semester is as well as other people I like. She gave us these cookies that had filling in between. It tasted like fortune cookies. Mmm... we also watched about 20 minutes of the class film we watched last semester. Yay! We're catching up. I also need to go to the language lab tomorrow morning to register for the online thingy-thing. And, then my 11 a.m. class is also in the CI building (I don't have to walk that far!) taught by Mark Hartlaub, who was my advisor for Freshman orientation way back in summer of 2006! I don't mention him in the actual entry, because I was truly lazy on July 21, 2006 but still. So, Lifespan Developmental Psychology sounds pretty cool. I also got my book for this class, and it was expensive even though I got a USED book. I look forward to the class. So, two more classes tomorrow! Exciting. World Lit and Western Civ! My late uncle Leroy's ex-wife, Karen, mother of my cousin Chad and family friend's mother recently died. We found out though the Winkler gossip chain. Chad called Carolyn to ask if he could stay at her house and Carolyn called my grandma. Grandma and everyone else called Karen's mum "Nana." I didn't know the woman very well, but it looks like I'm kinda forced to go to a funeral on Saturday. I hate going to funerals. Need I point to not going to one between 2001 and 2006? I guess I'll go because Karen is a family friend. I think I really like TaB soda. It's got no calories! It's really good soda and it's pretty! I think I definitely know the next dozen or so DVDs I plan to get. I already put in an order with Disney Movie Club for the duo of Homeward Bound movies and Dinosaur, but I plan to get some DVDs of movies I have on VHS (Toy Story 2, The Wizard of Oz, and others come to mind). I want to replace them and get them out of my room and wasting space. Thought/Quote of the day: "Kim, Ron, I'm gonna head home. I hope two of you have a wonderful, romantic, and loving rest of Valentine's Day."-- Monique, Kim Possible: Their First Valentine's Day by myself, February 2007 Word of the day: fletching Hakuna Matata. |
