Somehow Most Of This Entry is Related to TV Shows
Hey everybody! I got a lot of stuff I wanna talk about so, bear with me. I actually typed up some of this about 11 pm my time last night because it was all ready a long list. I am doing good though. ;) Except for the massively hot weather. I’m so seriously, going outside in the afternoon to walk to the mailbox is too much. I’m dying of the heat by the time I get back in the house, plus I practically burn my feet because for some reason, I walk to the mailbox barefooted. But, then again, it’s like this here every summer. After all, I live in South Texas, and not Central Colorado. I forgot to talk about this yesterday but I figured I would now. In poolagirl’s blog yesterday, she posted something that intrigued and interested me. And I figured I would talk about it from my standpoint, as I got involved (neener, a phrase my friend manicspike over on RS.net got me into!) Plus I posted a very nice comment to the writer here that warranted a thank you from another blogger here at D-Land in my notes (the link in the side bar that says notes). She even added me to her faves which put a smile on my face. Anyways, back to the topic at hand, and I chose to wear my glasses to type this out, to actually look sophisticated and intellectual. If you scroll down on that second link, you can see my remark, I’m just “Ashley.” You would think I’d go by my penname/Internet name: Ashley Benlove, but I didn’t feel like it. Anyways. I meant every word in my comment, and let me say this. I have been known to have slightly ageist thoughts every now and then, but who doesn’t? If I hear another person make a remark about how people my age (18-24 or even teenagers) are in a negative way, I may scream. That hurts. And it’s a generalisation. But, I would never have the audacity or the nasty snot-nosed little bitchiness to say that older people should not go back to college because that would break one of my most basic tenets to life: that learning and education is extremely important. I mean, I sat next to a woman who was my mother’s age all semester in my Western Civilization class. Lydia was a very nice woman, very smart, and it was rewarding to know her. She went to college when she was my age, and she has a daughter my age going to college in the Pacific Northwest (I could have sworn it was Washington, but I could be wrong). And plus, even though I’ll be done with my major Degrees that I really want by the time I’m 30, I actually have plans to go back when I’m in my fifties or so, because I think it would be nice to back to college and learn more, and get another degree, in… whatever suits my fancy. Plus, if you recall, I am a major The Golden Girls fan, and I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen the girls go to a class (Rose took Spanish once, Dorothy aced her French test, Blanche tried her best in Psychology, and Sophia considered Law School), and they were all over fifty. I mean, that show opened my eyes to a lot of things, and one of them was not to be ageist. Old people can have sex too. And they can also go back to college. This brings me to a random thought that came from this. In the South Park episode Goobacks, Season 8, they use the word timecist to describe someone who is discriminatory towards people from the future. And let me post the transcript from SP Scriptorium Randy: Hey, Stanley, you need to understand something: Those people from the future have had a hard life! Where they come from is dirty and overpopulated and poor! You can't even imagine the kind of depression they come from! So for us, who have everything sooo good, to judge them, is wrong! Do you understand?! Next time you think about calling them goobacks, you might just wanna stop for a second and think about how crappy the future really is! Sharon: That's right! We're not raising our son to be an ignorant timecist. Stan: Timecist? Sharon: You know, a racist, but against people from the- Stan: People from the future. Right, got it. I thought for a moment that maybe it would be called futurcist, because timecist doesn’t really imply “against people from the future,” maybe “time travelers,” which, actually the Goobacks are. Terminator rules, by the way. ;) But, then I thought about it, and Trey Parker’s way is better. So, I'm watching Season 6 of Scrubs, which is awesome. My Musical, My Long Goodbye, My House, My Road to Nowhere, My Scrubs, My No Good Reason, My Best Friend's Baby's Baby and My Baby's Baby. My Long Goodbye makes me just cry buckets. I love everyone’s goodbyes. Carla’s goodbye to Laverne is the one that makes me cry, though. [Nurse Roberts is in an unresponsive coma with her condition worsening by the second after a major car crash][Carla enters Hospital Room] I also like the way J.D and Kim Briggs deal with the fact that she’s pregnant. They consider every option. Being a fan of Kim Possible which is about a teenage girl, I’ve seen many examples of fanfics where Kim is pregnant and it’s all happy and merry. Seriously?! I mean, teenage girl, pregnant, would have to consider every option, even it makes them uncomfortable. And that's what J.D. and Kim did. Adoption, keep, abortion. Of course, upon seeing little Izzy Turk, they decided to keep it, and of course, comparing a teenage girl to two people about thirty years old, is kinda dumb, but it's the best thing I could come. I have to commend the writer of that episode for that, though. I love Scrubs because J.D. is basically just like me, except the male version of me and Dr. Cox is so gorgeous and hot that I get warm watching the show. LOL. Plus, it's a refreshing change from most of the shows I watch. No canned laughter, a little drama, a few touching stories, a funny voice over narrator (which I normally HATE!). I've been thinking about joining Facebook for a while, but then I'm like, should I? I don't care enough to do it. Plus, social networking sites are not for me. So, I've got a list that I've come up that I call my FCILF list. Fictional Characters I'd Like to Fuck. Yes, indeed, this whole entry is basically me relating how a television show can relate to real life. That's what I do. :) So, here's the list, I include a wide variety of characters, both male and female. I'll try to explain and include where they are from.. *Dr. Cox (Scrubs): He's beautiful. He is so manly and he has such a way with words, I love his rants. I'd be willing to put up with him. Isn't it better to do a long ass entry instead of a boring little entry about how damn bored I am? Haha. :) Also, still playing Fairway Solitaire. I may actual complete the damn game. :) Which is rare for me to do. Thought/Quote of the day: "We're worried about her, too, so please don't think we're not worried.!"-- Caroline, Kim Possible: Mary's Secret Part 2 by myself, May 2007 Word of the day: respell Hakuna Matata. |
