America the Book and Harry Potter stuff
Hey readers! How are you all doing today? I am doing pretty good. I realize that today technically counts as a birthday for me, but that's really the official birthday of my pen name, and a random character I've used for about five years now. Haha, but still. I mean, I am basically known as Ashley Benlove online (especially on RS.net). Though, my friends call me ABL there... an on occasion: Able Mable Peterson, but that's beside the fucking point. So, I got my copy of America The Book yesterday. It's basically like a textbook, and I read it all already. It's funny as hell but informative, even though I knew half the crap in it. I do love me some Jon Stewart. He is Jewish. Rawwr. I also finished Deathly Hallows and practically wept at my finishing it. And then earlier today I found and watched "J.K. Rowling - A Year in The Life" which had aired... yonks ago in The Britishland, on ITV. I found it online and watched. Wonderful little thing. I wept watching it. She did a family tree. James Sirius? Lily Luna? Albus Severus? I'm so seriously, Harry cannot name kids. Of course, George married Angelina and named their kids Fred and Roxanne (wtf?). I feel so bad for George by the series' end. She had to go and kill Fred. I will never forgive her for that. Because I adored Fred. But, you can bet your ass when she finishes her next book, whatever it is, I am reading it. Even if it's not Harry Potter. Though, I'll probably get it a little while later, whereas I got the last three Harry Potter books (those that came out while I was a fan) the DAY they came out. And, I still will always appreciate what Rowling did for me. She wrote this beautiful book series that changed my life, changed the way I act on this Earth (yes, I am channelling my favorite Jew right now). The guy who did the documentary asked her at the beginning of the thing (it was 47 minutes long), "What vice do you despise?" and without a second thought, she said, "Bigotry." And I love her for that. But, than again, she worked with Amnesty International back in the day. My favorite part is when she and the guy doing the documentary went back to the house she wrote the first book in. She started weeping, because I mean, her former bedroom had HP books on the bookshelf. How amazing is that? I wept too. Harry Potter does that for me. So, now I'm just chilling right now, no book to read, I might find something to amuse me or go ahead and start applying for jobs (which I should do soon). I do want some spending money this summer. And something to do. I don't have any shows to watch (KP ended last year, South Park and Scrubs are in hiatus till the Fall) or books to read (though I do want to read the Chronicles of Narnia so bad). I also did get the stickers I ordered a while back. Whoohoo! Have a good day. Thought/Quote of the day: "When she looked at Ron, he quoted Kim." -- Narration, Kim Possible: Mary's Secret Part 3 by myself, May 2007 Word of the day: readjorn Hakuna Matata. |
