Jane Austen, Drawn Together.
Hey friends! How are you? I am doing all right. After a small panic, I decided on my research project for Women’s Literature shortly after yesterday’s entry. Jane Austen’s popularity! That works. Tons of reading I’ll be doing, as I ordered a book called The Jane Austen Handbook: A Sensible Yet Elegant Guide to Her World and all of Jane Austen’s novels in a handy 1440 page book. Indeed. Plus, there are a ton of websites to help me. It should be fun. The other idea I had wasn’t as fun. That was more pure research. I’m a tad daunted by it, but I think I’ll be okay. I also bought yesterday while on campus a GRE study guide book that I plan to study with over the next 7 weeks. My exam is on 22 December. I'm also watching Drawn Together for some reason on Hulu. I'm nearly finished with the first two seasons. There's 36 episodes (or something about that). LOL. There's one episode where they're looking for a live-action cow (seriously): A Tale of Two Cows and they DRIVE THROUGH SOUTH PARK. Yes. I saw this from one of my forum-mates on RS.net long ago, but like, damn. It's cool to see and hear because DT recognises that South Park is leaps and bounds better than that show. Lawl. I do love Ling-Ling and Foxxy Love the best. Ling-Ling is just so goddamn cute and funny. Foxxy is just likeable. Physio. We're done with this section. Thirst was our notes. Yay for thirst. It's fascinating. European Women's History. Stuff about the Holocaust. How Jewish Women dealt with the crappiness of the 1930s in Germany. Also, the Nazis were douches because they were like, EMIGRATE OUT OF GERMANY but made it hard for them to do so. Of course, they were douches anyway. It's interesting though. And heartbreaking. I think of Anne Frank and her diary, and how based on that diary alone, she was an amazing writer, and how we'll never fucking know what she was capable of and my heart weeps. Women's Lit. We talked about the play we read and Lady Oracle and whatnot. Our next novel is the The Life And Loves of A She-Devil. I'm only a couple of pages in so far. I'm on campus all day tomorrow, until after 5 ish. Aggh. Moan and bitch. I have a counseling appointment tomorrow. And new South Park tomorrow. Good. Thought/Quote of the day: "I just closed my eyes for a second." Word of the day: pheasant Hakuna Matata. Countdown to twelfth episode of Season 13 of South Park: 1 day, 5 hours, 42 minutes! |
